Our client in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles wanted to throw her little boy, Leo, a themed party for his 5th birthday. She wasn't sure what to do, and as the mother of 3 little boys, already had her hands full. To top it off, she knew that she wanted to be able to fully enjoy and host the party, one of the main benefits of hiring an event planner.

After our first meeting, we connected on our mutual love for Disney, and Disneyland, especially the theme park's Adventureland area. What I love about this part of the park in particular are the authentic vintage touches strewn about: old luggage, shipping crates, and cargo nets everywhere.

And since the birthday boy also loves animals and adventure, we went full-steam-ahead on a classic safari themed party, pulling inspiration from sources like Indiana Jones, Tarzan, and The Jungle Cruise.

Chalkboard signage and a themed photo-opp area set the scene and welcomed guests. Everyone enjoyed lunch from The Taco Guy who provided an incredible Mexican taco spread, frozen dairy-free gelato bars from Enjoyer, an adorable (and incredible multi-flavored) cake from The French Confection Co., while children were entertained with a jungle themed bounce house, tiger style face painting, wild animal balloon sculptures, and an up-close reptile show from Reptacular Animals.

It was also important to our client that grown-up guests relax with a cocktail, so our team dreamed-up an oasis style bar, courtesy of Circa Vintage Rentals, complete with a classy version of "Jungle Juice" on-tap. And at the party's end, guests took home safari hats and tea-stained loot bags, hand-stamped with zebras and giraffes for that vintage touch we love so much.

Planning a birthday party this detailed and full of activity requires a lot of time, imagination, and good old fashioned work. But our client wrote us the week after to say, "We had such a great time and can't wait to do it again!!!" so I think it's safe to say, she made the right call in hiring our team to plan her son's party.
